What is the purpose of men’s groups in 2020?

Men’s groups can be confusing. In this article, I outline everything to do with the purpose behind a men’s group.

What’s the point of a men’s group?

A lot of people don’t understand why men’s groups exist or what a men’s group is. In this video, I share an introduction to men’s groups and share my own story with how I got involved with men’s meetings.

Despite having great friends and family around them day-to-day, the reality is that most men don’t have the opportunity to share what’s REALLY happening in their lives, or how they REALLY feel about it.

Guys may not notice this subtle isolation day-to-day, but then adversity strikes and they find that they have few outlets to get stuff off their chest or talk things through. Accordingly, they seek out a men’s group.

Why Men Need A Men’s Group?

This is especially true for guys that are entering their 30s, 40s, and 50s, who are busy with work and family and then run into NEW challenges such as:

  • Communicating in relationships
  • Parenting
  • Divorce
  • Learning how to control your emotions
  • Juggling work, health, and family
  • Questions of purpose
  • And more

The idea of men going through these common men’s group topics alone is such a shame because I’ve seen in men’s groups – time and time again – that there are lots of good men out there who could be supportive and say,  “Oh man I went through that same thing. I FEEL YA... Here’s what I did. Here’s what I learned. ”

How much better would that feel than going alone? How much quicker would you grow into more happiness and success, with guidance from men that have already been through whatever it is that you’re facing?

Sharing My Men’s Group Story

Hey, I’m Sean from MensGroup.com.

I’ve been running men’s groups for the last 10+ years for men from all walks of life. Some of them included celebrities, pro athletes and successful businessmen.

This whole men’s support group thing started when I was living what appeared to be a very normal, happy life.

I had a successful business, a loving partner and a bunch of friends that I hung out with regularly. I even moved to the beach to learn how to surf.

But whenever I’d hit a challenge I didn’t feel comfortable sharing with my buddies. I didn’t want to burden my loved ones. As a man I thought I had to figure things out on my own, or else it meant I was weak or that my dick was going to fall off or something.

And this subtle, isolation created extra pressure on myself and made things more difficult when I ran into life’s inevitable patches of adversity.

I Discovered Some Good News

There are lots of guys out there who are looking to overcome obstacles together and share the personal growth journey with guys like you. These are normal guys that are keen to listen, empathize and offer guidance to help you better navigate whatever you’re facing and achieve more happiness and success.

It’s because talking things through with other people is the fastest way to learn, grow and get more of the things that you want.

This is exactly why many of the most powerful & successful men of all time had some variation of a men’s circ going on behind the scenes. In the image at the top of this page, you’ll see a men’s group with US Presidents Ronald Regan and Richard Nixon. Other examples in the video are a black & white photo of Henry Ford, Thomas Eddison, Harvey Firestone, and US President Herbert Hoover.

So that’s what we do here at MensGroup. We facilitate, no nonsense online men’s circles for normal guys pursuing personal growth.

It’s The No-Nonsense Thing That Really Makes MensGroup Different

See most men’s groups include spiritual ceremony, chanting, academic discussions or masculine exercises in their meetings.

And while this stuff is cool, we feel our time together in a men’s group is better spent digging into the matters that the guys are facing.

So we skip all the nonsense and get right down to real-talk about what’s most relevant and pressing in your life, right now.

men's group agenda

The other thing that we do differently here at MensGroup is we hold our meetings online via video conference.

It’s just so damn convenient, you can attend an online men’s group from anywhere. You don’t have to travel or commute. And the guys like that it’s more confidential and less costly

Guys Are Saying Our Men’s Groups Are Helping Them

And this really works! Guys from all over the world have joined our men’s groups and say they’re:

  • Becoming happier and more successful
  • Better partners, fathers and providers
  • Feeling lighter because they can regularly get stuff off their chest
  • Saving time & energy because they are getting guidance from others who have been there
  • Feeling motivated and inspired
  • And they’re building real, life-long friendships with other guys interested in personal growth
